The AWCD was founded in 1959 and has been a member of FAWCO (Federation of American Women's Clubs Overseas) since 1971. The AWCD seeks to further the companionship and mutual interests of its multicultural members. We offer support and assistance to our members through a variety of programs and to the community through contributions to recognized charitable organizations, especially those serving the needs of women and children. The AWCD is an international group with
approximately 400 members. Seventy per cent of our members are
American or wives of Americans, about fifteen per cent are German,
and the remainder represent about 25 different nationalities. For
newcomers, we're here to help you get settled, to answer questions
you may have about living in the Düsseldorf area, and to help
you meet new friends. American Women's Club of Düsseldorf, e.V.
